Tulip Wreath
This classic spring wreath looks elegant and is a great way to bring a burst of color to your front door.
What You Will Need:
- Grapevine wreath
- Artificial tulips
- 1.5 feet of ribbon
- Shears or pliers
- Hot glue gun and glue sticks
- Scissors
How To Make A Tulip Wreath:
- Take the tulip and push any of the leaves up the stem near the flower. Cut the stems of the tulips so that they are 3 to 4 inches long.
- Put a small amount of hot glue at the bottom of the flower stem and tuck the stem into the grape vine wreath. When you place the stems into the wreath the tulips flower should remain close to the wreath with all the extra stem tucked within the grape vine.
- Continue gluing the bottoms of the tulips and evenly spacing the various colors of tulips around the wreath.
- Cut one and a half feet of ribbon tying a loop around the wreath. Use the ribbon wreath to hang from a hook or nail on your door.
Spring Grass Wreath
This playful spring wreath is all about fresh green grass and sprouting flowers in your lawn.
What You Will Need:
- 8” craft foam wreath
- Yarn fur in lime green
- Small fabric daisies
- Dressmaking pins with pearl ends
- Scissors
- 2 feet of ribbon
- Small wooden dowel (optional for flag)
- Small piece of card stock (optional for flag)
- Markers (optional for flag)
- Tape (optional for flag)
How To Make A Spring Grass Wreath:
- Wrap the yarn around the wreath so that none of the wrath is visible. To do this you will need to wrap the yarn so that it is very close together. Continue wrapping the yarn until the entire wrath is covered then tie the yarn to the wreath and cut the excess yarn. If desired you can place a pin on the back of the wreath at the end of the yarn piece to help hold the yarn in place.
- Place the fabric small flowers on the wreath by pushing a dressmaking pearl pin the center of the flower to hold the flower in place. Ideally you will want the pearl end of the pin to match the size and color of the center of the fabric flowers being used.
- Cut 2 feet of ribbon and loop the ribbon around the wrath. Tie a knot and hang the wreath on a hook on the front door.
- If desired you can cut out a 3 inches by 1 inch rectangle out of card stock. Cut out a triangle from the right hang edge to create a flag shape. Wrap a small section of the flag around the wooden dowel and tape into place. Decorate the flag using markers with your own spring greeting, such as bare feet welcome. Stick the flag into the wreath.

Umbrella Spring Wreaths

April showers bring May flowers! Spring is the season for the umbrella and what an interesting “container” it makes to display flowers on your front door. Unban a full-size umbrella and allow to flop open – do not put it up. Tie a colorful contrasting ribbon in a pretty bow 1/3 to 1/2 of the way up from the tip (not handle). Hang the umbrella on your door and place silk spring flowers in the folds that are draped open in the front.
Rain Boots Spring Wreaths

Use a pair of old rain boots or purchase a pair of children’s rain boots. There are many fun patterned and brightly colored children’s rain boots widely available on the market today. You might also try looking at second-hand stores or thrift stores for a great deal. Tie a long colorful ribbon to each boot; you may have to make a hole in the boot for the ribbon to go through. Tie the top of the two ribbons together with a secure bow. Hang the boots on the door and fill each boot with colorful spring flowers. Get creative, create a bird’s nest with robin’s eggs in the boots or incorporate whimsical bugs and butterflies on floral picks.
Colorful Monogram Spring Tulip Wreaths

Create a large letter, based on the first letter of your family’s last name, out of cardboard or purchase one from the craft store. Next, choose an item to create some great texture to hot glue over the entire letter. Your item can range from bow tie macaroni, large wooden beads or half-sphere Styrofoam pieces the choices are endless. Afterward, pick out a contrasting spring color to your front door and spray paint the entire letter; it may require a few coats.
If you’d like, add a bit of sparkle with a final coat of iridescent glitter spray. Finally, hang up the letter with a bright colorful ribbon.
