Although most people think of summer when they hear the phrase “wedding season,” it can actually fall during different times of the year depending on the region. In regions where the summers are especially hot or humid, the high season may actually fall earlier or later in the year.
While getting married during your chosen region’s wedding season may make it a little more difficult to book your dream vendors, you’ll typically be rewarded with the region’s best weather of the year as well as in-season blooms for your wedding arrangements. Just be sure to give yourself as much leeway as you can and book especially early if you have your heart set on your region’s busy season.

If you choose to plan a fall wedding, consider booking your venue for September or October dates to avoid the chances of any early snowstorms.

When many people think of the Pacific Northwest, they think of rain. This may be an unfair reputation; while it doesn’t rain in this region more than others, the sky remains overcast long after the precipitation ends rather than clearing up.
To avoid having your wedding during the region’s infamous rainy season, consider getting married during the summer; mid-July through mid-August is known to be the driest months of the year. That being said, with a narrow window, it will pay to plan early so you can book your spot and your vendors more easily.

Wedding season on the West Coast typically runs from April to October, with August and October proving to be the most popular. Thanks to the temperate climate of the West Coast, you can choose to have your wedding during almost any month of the year; however, you should consider that the rainy season in the west typically runs from October to April, depending on the exact locale.

When choosing a date for your wedding, you may want to consider months that have three-day weekends as these allow your guests ample time to travel. However, you should let people know about your wedding date well in advance so they don’t plan a vacation for this time. You may also have to pay a bit extra if booking a venue on a holiday weekend, since employers may be required to pay holiday wages, and it will also likely be a time of high demand.
Please keep in mind when planning your wedding that you don’t have to be limited by wedding seasons. Some brides may love the idea of a January wedding (with fewer holidays to compete with) while others want to have their ceremony around Christmas or Valentine’s Day.
Holding your wedding during the off-season months will often be a cheaper endeavor. And, because wedding vendors may have fewer clients on the books, they may be able to give you more personalized attention. Honeymoons will also be far cheaper when booked during the offseason.
